![]() ![]() I’ve decided that I don’t want to keep this secret to myself any longer, so I’m going to let you in on the hottest local spots all in the heart of Quincy’s Marina Bay. ![]() ![]() There are so many different places to eat, drink, or get a snack, all in the heart of Quincy’s gorgeous waterfront with spectacular views of Boston Harbor.Įvery time I bring a friend along with me, they’re always shocked by how much fun they have. I had never been until a few years ago, but once I went for the first time, I was hooked. She had the coolest spot right near the water, and could take advantage of the many local bars and restaurants all in her vicinity. They are good.I had always heard of Marina Bay my aunt moved there in her early twenties and loved it. They have a list of specialty drinks which are more in keeping with the $7-8-9 range. It irks me when I and my family are dressed appropriately and see people walk in with torn jeans and baseball caps, which they refuse to remove. I wish the owners of fine restaurants such as this would have a dress code. If you are a fan of Golden Corral, I don't think this is the place for you. There again, this is an unique restaurant and may not be to everyone's liking. We were there Saturday and there were 5 couples having dinner which i though was strange for a Saturday night. The chef may be overly generous with his salt, because I was exceedingly dry and I drank several bottles of water after we returned home. You are comfortably full when dinner is through. You are able to sample a little of everything on the menu. That was about how long we took to complete our dinner. You have a wonderfully relaxed meal which could be up to two hours. We elected to have the chef's tasting, the $40.00 tasting. This is a big plus in establishing the ambience for the rest of the. They actually greet you as soon as you step inside the door and greet you with sincerity. The best if this restaurant is the friendliness! Smiles, and smiles and more smiles. I was really looking forward to this meal and was sadly disappointed. We ask for mayo but told they didn’t have any because the chef didn’t think it needed it and did not like it himself. Who had ordered a burger, which by the way doesn’t come with any condiments except the ketchup for the fries. I went to a highly rated restaurant expecting a wonderful meal and ended up eating some French fries off a friends plate. They did box it for me to take home and did not charge me for the meal but that’s not the point. They did offer to reheat it for me but by that time my companions had pretty much finished their meals. well maybe it’s just me but I certainly didn’t enjoy room temperature fish on a bed of lukewarm warm mashed potatoes. When I said something to our waiter I was told that the chef didn’t believe in serving food that was hot, that it is best warm. When they said trout was the fish of the day I was super excited because I love it! It took awhile to get our food which is fine, I don’t mind waiting for good food. ![]() Order the chef's tasting menu and sample a small plate of almost everything on the menu. Enjoy the thick, juicy cuts of pork or beef, or savor the colors and flavors of the vegetarian hash (for example). Otherwise, come here for grown-up cuisines like polenta and roasted duck breast. I don't recommend this for toddlers and young kids, but hey, maybe your child likes grilled romaine salad or smoked mushrooms. (The chicken spring rolls are unique and always spectacular.) Go here with your family, but only if they like real food and enjoy trying dishes with full flavors, sometimes with some exotic twists or spices. Go here for appetizers and a whiskey with friends. Go here for a fancy date and stay long enough to share a dessert. The ingredients are superior and they are prepared and cooked with precision and care. The presentation of the food is as delicious as the. They offer a menu that updates with the seasons and with the chef's whimsy. I have been to this restaurant many times, because it's my favorite in the city.
